Book Direct: Best Rates + Benefits

Our Bedrooms

Perfectly perched between both Quantock Hills and Mendip Hills AONB, with stunning coastlines and nature reserves on your doorstep, you’re in for a relaxing yet action packed stay with us here in Burnham-On-Sea. Our 6 cosy bedrooms above the pub offer an irresistible blend of charm, tradition, and thoughtful details, from the big fluffy towels, uber-comfy beds and coastal decor.

Just a hop, skip and a jump away you’ll find one of the longest stretches of golden sands in Europe – that’s seven miles of glorious, golden, sandy goodness in total. During the summer season donkey rides are available along stretches of Burnham Beach which start from the jetty. It’s one of those nostalgic, ‘picture postcard’ memorable moments for the little ones to enjoy.

The spectacular Cheddar Gorge is just a 25-minute drive away, a truly iconic gem nestled in the Mendip Hills. Fasten up those hiking boots and explore England’s largest gorge and spectacular landscapes. Rest assured you can head back to the pub and indulge in a well-earned drink (or two) next to our roaring fireplace and enjoy a restful nights sleep.

Frequently Asked Questions

Staying Over?

How long should you stay in Burnham-on-sea?

We love being here in Burnham-on-sea, and we just know you will too.

We think a stay of two nights is pretty perfect. A little less? You’ll have a great time (we promise), but there’s just so much to see and do in Burnham-on-sea that you’ll wish you had an extra night with us.

Staying for longer? We’ll give you plenty of hints and tips for the best local walks, attractions and activities to keep you busy.

What are the best things to do in Burnham-on-sea?

Honestly, so much. Just a short walk down the road and you’ll find yourself on the shores of one of the longest stretches of golden sands in Europe (that’s seven miles in total).

Standing proud on Bridgewater Bay, be sure to check out the smallest (but mighty) Burnham-on-sea Pavilion, the shortest, and one of the oldest illuminated seaside piers in the country.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 3pm. If you arrive early and your room isn’t quite ready, there’s plenty of space in our lovely pub to relax, have a bite to eat or a little tipple.

Arriving early and want to head out? No problem, we’ll hold on to your bags until you’re back.

Check-out is by 11am.

What time is breakfast?

Brekkie is served from 8am daily. If your room rate doesn’t include breakfast but you can’t quite resist, fear not, walk-ins are very welcome.

Do you have any family-friendly bedrooms?

Our bigger-comfy room is our family-friendly bedroom. We can also add cots for the littlest of guests, or fold-out beds (for the bigger little ones) to your room on request. Kids under 2 stay for free. 2-16 are £15 per night.

Can I bring my dog to stay?

Yes, we love furry four-legged friends just as much as humans. Just add your dog to your booking (up to two pups can stay with you for £20 per night), and we’ll make sure they get a VIP welcome with a doggy hamper full of tasty tail-wagging treats, a doggy bed or blanket and bowl.

Getting Here

Do you have any parking?

We are lucky enough to have our own on-site parking. Turn right at our pub sign and it’s just around the back of our garden.

If it’s a busy day, try Oxford Steet car park, just a 5-minute walk away via Kingsway Road. That one will set you back £5.50 for the day.

How do I get to you via public transport?

Our closet train station is Highbridge & Burnham, and you can jump in a taxi and it’s a quick 8-minute drive to us.

Booking Bits

Can I cancel my booking?

We understand that plans sometimes change, so we try to make our booking policies super flexible. You can cancel or modify your booking up to 12pm the day before your arrival. If you cancel outside of this time or don’t show up, we’re sorry, but we’ll have to charge you for the first night of your stay. The only rate that’s not flexible is the Early Bird, this one’s non-refundable and non-amendable.

Can I make changes to my booking?

You can make changes to your booking up to 12pm the day before your arrival. This includes changes to your package, room and extras (as long as it’s available). The only rate that’s not flexible is the Early Bird, this one’s non-amendable.

Can I get a copy of my invoice?

Of course. When booking online, you have the option to send an invoice in step 2. Missed this step? Not to worry, just ask at Reception and the team will email you a copy. Checked out already? Pop us an email and we’ll send one right over.
